Why complete RFQ information matters
An electronic component quotation depends on the exact part number and the purchasing conditions. A clear request helps the sourcing team review the right product version and confirm the available supply information for each line item.

1. Provide the complete part number
Please provide the full manufacturer part number, including suffixes, package codes, temperature grades, speed grades, voltage versions, or other ordering codes when applicable. A partial model name may correspond to several variants, so the complete ordering code is important for an accurate review.
If the request involves multiple part numbers, list each model separately with its required quantity.
2. Identify the brand or manufacturer
Include the specified brand or manufacturer when the design requires one. For mixed-brand requests, identify the brand next to each part number. This helps distinguish similarly named products and supports a more precise sourcing review.
3. State the quantity and purchasing schedule
Please provide the required quantity, whether the request is for a sample, a small batch, a production order, or spare parts, and any planned purchasing schedule. Quantity and timing can affect the available sourcing options and quotation conditions.
4. Clarify package, date-code, and condition requirements
If relevant to your application, specify:
- Package or case type
- Date-code or manufacturing-year preference
- New-and-original requirement
- Factory-sealed or packaging requirements
- Label, traceability, or batch information
- Product photos or packaging photos needed before confirmation
The information that can be confirmed depends on the specific part number and sourcing channel.
5. Explain whether alternatives can be considered
If an alternative part may be considered, state whether the request allows cross-reference review. Electrical parameters, package dimensions, pinout, temperature range, certifications, firmware, and application requirements may all affect compatibility.
A possible alternative is for review only. The customer’s engineering or procurement team must make the final compatibility decision before use.
6. Include destination and required timing
Provide the destination country or region and the required delivery timing. Shipping options and lead-time conditions depend on the part number, quantity, destination, available supply channel, and logistics arrangement. Final delivery information is confirmed in the quotation.
7. Add documentation or inspection requirements
If you need product photos, labels, packaging details, inspection records, compliance documents, or other supporting information, include the request in the RFQ. The available documents vary by product and supply channel and are confirmed case by case.

For the most useful quotation review, include the manufacturer, complete part number, quantity, package or condition requirements, destination, required timing, and any alternative or documentation notes.
