Why Electronic Component Pricing and Lead Time Must Be Confirmed by Part Number

Category-level information is not a quotation

A market headline may describe a product category, but a usable procurement decision requires a specific manufacturer part number, quantity, condition, destination, and timing. Two products in the same family can have different packaging, date codes, supply channels, and commercial terms.

Why the part number matters

The full suffix may define voltage, speed, temperature, package, tolerance, memory density, firmware, qualification, or termination. A shortened model can lead to a quote for the wrong variant.

Quantity and destination

Price and available supply can change with quantity, packaging, minimum order, split delivery, destination, tax, freight, and payment terms. A small sample request and a production requirement should not be evaluated as the same commercial request.

Product condition and supply channel

New-and-original, factory-sealed, excess inventory, broker stock, refurbished, or other conditions may carry different documentation and commercial conditions. The acceptable condition must be stated before quotation.

Lead time is a set of conditions

Lead time may refer to available stock, supplier confirmation, production scheduling, inspection, export handling, or transport. It should be connected to the exact product, quantity, destination, and order conditions rather than presented as a universal promise.

How to improve quotation accuracy

Provide the complete part number, manufacturer, quantity, package, condition, date-code preference, destination, required timing, alternative policy, and documentation requirements. For multiple line items, list each model separately. For a complete BOM, send the file by email so each line can be reviewed.

Common mistakes

  • Asking for a category-level price without a part number.
  • Treating an online listing as confirmed stock.
  • Comparing new and refurbished material as equivalent.
  • Ignoring quantity breaks or packaging.
  • Treating an estimated lead time as a guaranteed delivery date.

Conclusion

Part-number-level confirmation protects both the buyer and supplier from avoidable misunderstandings. A quotation should state the product, condition, quantity, commercial terms, and delivery conditions that were actually reviewed.

How to submit a request

Submit one or more part numbers through the RFQ form. For a complete BOM, please email the list to Alan@szjrftech.com. Include the manufacturer, complete part number, quantity, destination, required timing, and any packaging, documentation, or alternative-part requirements. Stock availability, pricing, product condition, documentation, and lead time depend on the specific part number, quantity, and sourcing channel and are subject to final quotation confirmation.
